Major Jay Anson was commissioned as a Signal Officer through US Army Officer Candidate School in 2000. He previously served as an Infantryman with 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord, CA; Military Paralegal with V Corps in Germany; and paratrooper with the 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC.

He has served in a variety of tactical, joint, and strategic signal officer assignments with 1st Infantry Division, 10th Mountain Division, NETCOM, and NATO. Prior to joining USSOUTHCOM’s Cybersecurity Division, Jay managed assignments for Signal Corps Majors and Lieutenant Colonels at US Army Human Resources Command.

Jay is a veteran of Operations Joint Endeavor (Hungary & Croatia); Joint Guard (Bosnia); Joint Guardian (Kosovo); Iraqi Freedom II & 09-11 (Northern Iraq); Enduring Freedom VII (Afghanistan); and Able Sentry (Turkey).

He has a Masters in Military Arts and Science from the Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Fort Leavenworth, KS; a Masters in Informations Systems from the University of Phoenix; and a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Jay is an AFCEA life member and won AFCEA’s JC4I Excellence in Writing Award from CGSC.
